This Privacy Policy explains how Kotaro Omori ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the TalkCase mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

1. Overview

TalkCase is designed with privacy in mind. The App does not require you to create an account or provide personally identifiable information to use its core features. Most data generated by your use of the App is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to the Developer.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

2.1 Information You Provide

Photographs and Images
You may optionally upload photographs from your device's photo library or camera to create avatar characters or set chat backgrounds. When you upload a photo for avatar creation, the image may be transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API solely for the purpose of generating appearance-based character trait suggestions. The image is not stored on any Developer-controlled server. Images saved as avatars or backgrounds are stored locally on your device only.

Avatar and Character Data
Information you enter when creating avatar characters — including names, personality descriptions, and profile text — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data may be transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API to generate conversational responses within the App.

Chat Messages
Messages you send within the App, along with associated character profiles and conversation summaries ("memories"), are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API to generate AI responses. The Developer does not store your messages on any server. Message data is retained locally on your device and is deleted when you delete the App.

Voice Input
If you choose to use the voice input feature, your speech is processed using Apple's Speech Recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). Voice data may be transmitted to Apple's servers for processing in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. We do not store or have access to your voice recordings.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location Data
With your permission, the App accesses your approximate location to retrieve local weather information from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a third-party weather service. Your location data is transmitted directly to Open-Meteo and is not retained by the Developer. Location access is optional; declining location permission does not affect core App functionality.

Firebase Usage
The App uses Google Firebase for two specific purposes: Firebase App Check verifies that requests to AI services originate from the legitimate App and not unauthorized sources. Firebase AI is used to route Gemini AI API requests. The App does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Performance Monitoring, and does not collect crash reports, performance data, or usage statistics through Firebase.

Advertising Data
The App displays rewarded video advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob serves advertisements in accordance with Google's privacy policies. Because the App does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission, AdMob operates in non-personalized ads mode. Device identifiers (IDFA) are not used for advertising purposes.

2.3 Purchase Information
Subscription and in-app purchase transactions are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does not collect or store your payment information. Purchase status (e.g., whether you have an active subscription) is verified locally via Apple's StoreKit framework.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

Each third party processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Google (policies.google.com) and Apple (apple.com/privacy).

4. Data Storage and Retention

Local Storage
All avatar characters, chat history, conversation memories, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data remains on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. The Developer does not have access to locally stored data.

Third-Party Processing
Data transmitted to third-party services (such as Google Gemini) for processing is subject to those services' own data retention policies. The Developer does not control how third parties retain or process data after transmission.

iCloud Backup
If iCloud backup is enabled on your device, locally stored App data may be included in your iCloud backup as managed by Apple. This is subject to Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy.

5. Age Requirement

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.

6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Access and Deletion
Because the App stores data locally on your device, you can access and delete your data at any time directly within the App (by deleting individual characters or chat histories) or by uninstalling the App entirely.

Location Permission
You may revoke location permission at any time through your device's settings (Settings → TalkCase → Location). Revoking location access disables the weather context feature but does not affect other App functionality.

Microphone and Speech Recognition Permission
You may revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions at any time through your device's settings. Revoking these permissions disables the voice input feature.

Photo Library Permission
You may revoke photo library access at any time through your device's settings. Revoking this permission disables the ability to upload new photos but does not affect previously saved avatars.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect information transmitted through the App, including the use of Firebase App Check to authenticate API requests. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted to or processed by third-party services.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as privacy policy and terms of service pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes relating to this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

アバターおよびキャラクターデータ
名前、性格、プロフィールなど、アバターキャラクターの作成時に入力した情報は、AppleのSwiftDataフレームワークを使用してデバイス上にローカル保存されます。これらのデータは、アプリ内で会話の応答を生成するために、GoogleのGemini AI APIに送信される場合があります。

2.2 自動的に収集される情報

位置情報
お客様の許可を得た上で、本アプリはサードパーティの気象情報サービスであるOpen-Meteo（open-meteo.com）から地域の天気情報を取得するため、おおよその位置情報にアクセスします。位置情報データはOpen-Meteoに直接送信され、開発者が保持することはありません。位置情報へのアクセスは任意であり、許可を拒否しても本アプリの主要な機能には影響しません。

Firebaseの利用について
本アプリはGoogle Firebaseを2つの目的で使用しています。Firebase App Checkは、AIサービスへのリクエストが正規のアプリからのものであることを確認するために使用します。Firebase AIはGemini AI APIへのリクエストのルーティングに使用します。本アプリはFirebase Analytics、Crashlytics、またはPerformance Monitoringを使用しておらず、Firebaseを通じたクラッシュレポート、パフォーマンスデータ、使用統計の収集は行っていません。

広告データ

4. データの保存と保持

ローカル保存
すべてのアバターキャラクター、チャット履歴、会話の記憶、および設定は、デバイス上にローカル保存されます。これらのデータは、アプリ内で削除するか、アプリをアンインストールするまでデバイスに残ります。開発者がローカルに保存されたデータにアクセスすることはありません。

5. 年齢制限

本アプリは18歳未満の個人による使用を意図していません。当社が意図的に18歳未満の個人から個人情報を収集することはありません。

6. お客様のプライバシーの権利と選択

アクセスと削除
本アプリはデータをデバイス上にローカル保存するため、お客様はアプリ内で直接（個々のキャラクターやチャット履歴を削除することにより）、またはアプリを完全にアンインストールすることにより、いつでもご自身のデータにアクセスし、削除することができます。

位置情報の許可
お客様は、デバイスの設定（「設定」→「TalkCase」→「位置情報」）からいつでも位置情報の許可を取り消すことができます。アクセスを取り消すと天気コンテキスト機能は無効になりますが、その他のアプリ機能には影響しません。

マイクと音声認識の許可
お客様は、デバイスの設定からいつでもマイクと音声認識の許可を取り消すことができます。これらを取り消すと音声入力機能は無効になります。

写真ライブラリの許可
お客様は、デバイスの設定からいつでも写真ライブラリへのアクセス許可を取り消すことができます。これを取り消すと新しい画像のアップロードはできなくなりますが、以前に保存したアバターには影響しません。

7. セキュリティ

当社は、APIリクエストを認証するためのFirebase App Checkの使用を含め、本アプリを通じて送信される情報を保護するために合理的な技術的対策を講じています。ただし、電子的な送信または保存方法で100%安全なものはありません。サードパーティサービスに送信、または処理されるデータの絶対的なセキュリティを保証することはできません。

8. サードパーティのリンクとサービス

本アプリには、サードパーティのウェブサイトまたはサービス（プライバシーポリシーや利用規約のページなど）へのリンクが含まれる場合があります。当社はサードパーティサービスのプライバシー慣行について責任を負わないため、情報を提供する前にそれらのプライバシーポリシーを確認することをお勧めします。
